Essie Foxford lives near Manchester in England, and yes, it does rain a lot, much to the delight of her three ducks. 

Her writing veers away from the overly serious, tending towards romance, adventure and humour with a sprinkling of unusual characters who are in theory fantastical, but can you ever be sure? 

A Twist of Amethyst is the first book in the series of Genius Consultants (a company that employs genies who can now work for themselves). The second book in the series, A Kiss of Crystal, is due out in June 2026. It brings more quirky humour, nail biting escapades, out of control magic and a not inconsiderable dash of romance.
